Jefferson County Alliance, along with our partners, serves a critical role in our community—providing a complete picture of what it’s like to live and conduct business in Jefferson County.

Whether you are a site selector working on behalf of a client, an existing business seeking information, an entrepreneur looking for a place to establish a new business, or a developer searching for opportunities, our goal is to assist you by providing useful and current information.

Local Partners

Jefferson County Government

The Jefferson County Government honors the history of the area while preparing for the future. Elected officials and county offices are dedicated to ensuring a great quality of life for residents, helping businesses succeed, and creating great visitor experiences. They provide valuable resources and information to everyone in the county and are constantly looking for ways to support the community.

Bush Beans

Founded in 1903 by A.J. Bush, Bush’s Beans has prospered in Jefferson County due in part to access to natural resources and transportation routes connecting the industry to major markets.

Jefferson City Industrial Development Board

To support economic growth the board acquires, owns, and leases properties and encourages businesses across industries to build or relocate to the area. They deliver tax abatements and acquire grants and loans to help businesses and the community.

Carson Newman University

Carson-Newman is a liberal arts college built on Christian principles. Founded in 1851, Carson-Newman has a long history of academic excellence and continues to receive national accolades and recognition as one of the top colleges in Tennessee. CNU offers an array of bachelor’s and master’s degrees programs, small class sizes, on-line and in-person programs.

Appalachian Electric Cooperative

AEC distributes TVA electricity across Jefferson County and surrounding areas. They provide dependable power to 40,233 residences and 6,462 commercial properties. AEC offers an energy efficiency loan program and an energy assistance program (empower) to help elderly and disabled customers pay their utility bills.

Jefferson County Industrial Board

Works with local governments, regional and local agencies to boost the Jefferson County economy by bringing new industries and businesses to the area.

TVR markets and distributes quality agricultural limestone to help farmers maintain proper PH levels, which improves crop yields and revenue.

Tennessee Valley Authority

TVA was founded in the 1930s as part of President Roosevelt’s “New Deal” to boost economic growth in the region. In a way TVA continues to do so today, providing dependable power so that businesses and communities can thrive. We can thank TVA for creating gorgeous Cherokee Lake and Douglas Lake with the construction of Cherokee Dam and Douglas Dam. These hydroelectric power sources generate clean renewable, and affordable energy.

Tennessee Economic & Community Development

The TNECD communicates the pros of doing business in Tennessee—low taxes, a pro-business culture, right-to-work policies. They are a great source for current business news and for commercial property listings across the state.

East Tennessee Economic Development Agency

The ETEDA provides free and confidential consulting services for businesses considering or searching for a site in East TN. Their services match the right businesses with the right communities to facilitate economic growth across East TN.

USDA Rural Development

USDA Rural Development promotes economic development and a better quality of life for rural Tennesseans. They offer grant and loan programs to modernize community infrastructure, improve schools, libraries, and hospitals, support new and growing businesses, help low-income citizens secure and finance affordable housing, and so much more.

Norfolk Southern Railway

The Norfolk Southern Railway is one of the largest transportation companies in the USA. They play a valuable role in the Jefferson County economy–distributing materials and manufactured goods throughout their 22-state railroad network.

Northeast TN Valley Regional Industrial Development Association

NETVRIDA is an economic development organization that works with TVA and local power companies across the region to provide businesses that are interested in the region with confidential internalization and site information.

Towns & Cities

Dandridge

Dandridge has been the county seat of Jefferson County since 1792 when the county was first organized and is the second oldest city in the state of Tennessee.

Jefferson City

Jefferson City is one of the largest cities in Jefferson County and is the home of Carson-Newman University, a private liberal arts university that consistently achieves national acclaim.

White Pine

With sparkles of sunshine reflecting off Douglas Lake and having the splendor of the Great Smoky Mountains as a backdrop, it would be hard to find any location more beautiful than White Pine.

Baneberry

Forty miles east of Knoxville, this residential community is filled with attractively landscaped homes offering spectacular views of the Great Smoky Mountains.

New Market

New Market was once home to famous writer Francis Hodgson Burnett, author of noted classics The Secret Garden and The Little Princess. The beautiful rolling hills and scenic views of New Market must have provided inspiration for Burnett’s writings.

Two of the best fishing destinations in Appalachia, Douglas Lake and Cherokee Lake, attract fisherman in pursuit of Bass and Crappie.

JCCUD provides natural gas and propane with a focus on safety and customer service. They also offer rebates and incentives for new service customers.
